I’ve worked with The Wilderness Society (TWS) since 2021, across several different teams, and it always feels like coming back to people who get me. They first reached out through a recommendation from a friend, and four years later we’re still working together—because our goals and values line up: do quality work, honor Native and conservation priorities, and keep moving forward.

This latest project was with the Native Lands Partnerships (NLP) team. I love working with them because, like me, they are facilitators. We speak the same language. Bridging the divide between conservation and public lands is hard work, but NLP is masterful at it.

For this project, my role was to help shape new website copy. It’s a tricky needle to thread—the language has to resonate with Native audiences, stay true to TWS’ mission, and still feel clear and approachable to conservation allies and funders. I brought my experience, my ear for listening, and my ability to weave between perspectives. Together, with a collaborative approach, we landed on something the team can use right away.

What I love about NLP is their “can-do” attitude. They trust me no matter where I am or what I’m working on, and I trust them to bring authenticity and care to everything they do. They’re the perfect client—we can work on something small or something big, and either way it will make an impact.
